Going from EMT to Paramedic is the biggest career jump you will make in the EMS profession. EMT class is typically 12 weeks, while Paramedic college can be minimum 14-18 months, most are two years in program length.

When working on the ambulance, I always enjoyed working with partners who were EMTs that were in Paramedic school as I could teach and assist them while we were at work. This video is condensed version of how I would help my EMT partner transition into becoming and thinking like a paramedic would.

I’m aware that not every EMT wants to become a Paramedic, and we all know EMTs save Paramedics BUT if you know in your heart of hearts that you want to serve your community as a Paramedic and make the jump. This video is made for you.

Be great,

Evan, The Paramedic Coach

  1. Hi, I am 17 years old a senior in high school. As soon as I graduate I want to get into the field however I know nothing about basic emt. I do not want to jump into Emt school with no prior knowledge however I can’t seem to find anything to get me stated. I see you offer your course I am extremely interested. I would like to know if this course is something that given my current situation would help me jump start my career. Thank you in advance!
